GLASTONBURY 2005 - BIRTH DAY EVENT

Left Field, Glastonbury Festival

. Labyrinth birth dance - a body painted pregnant woman is unveiled in the labyrinth. After this dance performance and circle dancing, people can walk through the labyrinth and she will give them a white ribbon, the international symbol of safe motherhood.

. Foot massage for mothers

The aim of the event is to raise awareness - and make connections between rich world and poor world; we are all born, many of us are parents. The event is both celebratory and serious.

Organisers
Brigid McConville : Journalist and maker of the films 'My Sister, My Self and 'Beyond the Numbers' and 'Mama' together with her colleague Dr Gwyneth Lewis.

The films
The internationally acclaimed short film 'My Sister My Self' (13 minutes) will be screened in one part of the tent. The films 'Mama' (3 minutes) and 'Beyond the Numbers' (23 minutes) will be screened in different areas.
